Auckland Anniversary Weekend at The Olympic
As the sun shines over the Waitematā this January, it’s time to celebrate the place we call home. Auckland Anniversary Day is more than just a long weekend—it’s a moment to reflect on our city’s vibrant history, from the first regattas in 1842 to the bustling, diverse Tāmaki Makaurau we love today.
At The Olympic Pools and Fitness Centre, we are incredibly proud to be a staple of the Auckland community. Whether you’re training for your next personal best or bringing the family in for a splash to cool off after the Regatta, we’re here to help you make the most of the long weekend.
Our Anniversary Weekend Hours
Planning your long weekend workouts? We’re keeping the doors open so you can stay on track with your fitness goals.
Saturday & Sunday: Open regular hours and full class schedule.
Monday (Auckland Anniversary Day): Open 7:00 am – 8:00 pm.
Note: There will be no group fitness classes on Monday.
Proudly Auckland
Auckland Anniversary Day commemorates the arrival of William Hobson in 1840 and the founding of the province. Today, that spirit lives on through the world-famous Anniversary Day Regatta and the thousands of Aucklanders who head outdoors to enjoy our beautiful parks and beaches.
Being located in the heart of Newmarket, we see the energy of this city every single day. We are proud to provide a space where Aucklanders can focus on their health, wellness, and community.
So, after you’ve enjoyed the festivities at the waterfront or a BBQ with friends, come on in for a swim or a session in the gym. Let’s celebrate 186 years of Auckland together!
Happy Auckland Anniversary Weekend!
